Looking back, I have always been interested in body, mind and spirit and so naturally....I became a lawyer for 20 years!  

 

However, as time wore on, much as I enjoyed my legal work, I knew in the back of my mind there was 'something else' I wanted to explore and which I hoped would enable me to give back more.  I wasn't sure what that was but I knew I was interested in energy work.

 

At the same time, I started to try various healing modalities including counselling, kinesiology and conscious connected breathing, all of which I found powerful. I also particularly enjoyed daily meditations with a shaman I had found online which I did for a long time and found to be the only way to still my restless 'monkey mind' which was constantly cluttered with thoughts about my professional work and my role as a mother and the pressures of modern living.  

 

I eventually threw caution to the wind and joined a retreat in Morocco that the shaman was running with an esteemed yoga instructor. It was an  unforgettable and transformational experience physically, mentally and spiritually. It was heavy lifting in all ways rather than simply a stretch and some wind chimes; it was exactly what I needed to allow me to let go of energy I didn't want or need any more.  I finally had the bandwidth to pull together my interests and decide my path ahead.  

 

I realised energy work has the power to change lives - to allow you to heal yourself physically, mentally and spiritually. That led me to my incredible Reiki master and my training - firstly to do the training to heal myself, then to train to heal others.  I decided also to do a Reiki diploma to open up opportunities to work in healthcare settings which require this. Much like the law, spiritual work is continual learning and development. Change is the only Constant!
